Reiki for You and Your Horse

Breathe in. Breathe out. Be present.
This is the advice I give myself while I’m riding. Or when a horse presents with a unique quirk and I can’t figure out the answer. When I feel myself getting flustered and trying to push a horse into understanding. When I feel fear or anxiety begin to creep in.
It’s also how I spend my time during a reiki session.
As you sit in the presence of the reiki energy, listening to your horses’ soft breathing and the relaxing healing music, you’ll feel your body become warm and relaxed. Your mind will wander gently, your breaths will slow and you’ll be infused with peace and calm. It’s like a hot shower and a massage and a soothing cup of tea all in one. Your horse will feel the benefits as well. They will shift, stretch, yawn, pass gas, and slowly blink. Their heads will become heavy, and often they will come rest them on you. The reiki energy will move between you and your horse like a stream, nourishing you both and bringing you closer together.
After a thirty minute reiki sessions, I’ve had horses standing like they’ve been drugged, lids heavy and head low, relaxed and at peace. Their owners feel an increased sense of closeness and tranquility with their horse. You’ll be relaxed for the rest of the day, carrying that feeling around with you as you go about your life.
Reiki offers a powerful yet gentle way to support both you and your horse—emotionally, mentally, and physically. Sharing this experience together can deepen your connection and promote lasting positive change.
Some of the key benefits of Reiki sessions with your horse include:
A deeper sense of overall well-being for both human and horse, fostering trust and harmony in your partnership.
Profound relaxation, helping to release tension, reset the nervous system, and create space for rest and healing.
Support for physical healing, encouraging the body’s natural recovery processes and aiding in pain relief or injury recovery.
Increased calm and emotional balance, especially beneficial for anxious or reactive horses—and riders.
Longer-lasting effects, allowing you to carry the sense of peace, presence, and connection from your session into your everyday work together, helping reduce stress, fear, and frustration during rides and training.
Reiki is a shared experience that meets you both where you are—and helps guide you gently toward a more centered, connected place.
Whether you're navigating a challenge in your training, seeking deeper connection with your horse, or simply craving a moment of peace in a busy world, Reiki offers a path toward presence, partnership, and healing. It’s not about fixing or forcing—it’s about opening space for stillness, for quiet understanding, and for the subtle, transformative energy that flows between horse and human. When we slow down and truly listen, we create room for trust to grow. Reiki gives us that chance—to breathe, to reset, and to show up for our horses and ourselves with gentleness, clarity, and calm.
